Key Responsibilities

  • •Conduct daily ward rounds with the nurse in charge for patients not already seen by a consultant.
  • •Act as first point of contact for consultants and nursing staff caring for cardiology patients, and complete jobs requested by consultants.
  • •Clerk patients admitted under a cardiologist and clerk emergency admissions to support the Medical Resident doctor.
  • •Review emergency ECGs within 15 minutes and recognise/escalate complications following cardiac procedures.
  • •Work with other RMOs (oncology, surgery and ITU) and provide effective handover at end of shift, especially for patients giving cause for concern.

  • •Degree in Medicine (MBBS) or equivalent.
  • •Full Registration with the GMC.
