Key Responsibilities

•Lead engineering and modernization efforts for VDI environments supporting DoD missions, including requirements analysis, solution design, and lifecycle documentation aligned with DoD 5000.02.
•Engineer, manage, and optimize enterprise VDI platforms VMware Horizon 2512, including image creation, application layering, profile management, and performance tuning.
•Administer and enhance VDI components such as Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM), App Volumes, Instant Clone Pools, FSLogix for O365, and user experience optimization tools.
•Troubleshoot complex VDI issues (pool configuration changes, vCenter desktop failures, image defects, and distributed performance degradation) and maintain VDI Gold Images with monthly patch cycles and secure baseline enforcement.
•Ensure VDI engineering deliverables meet technical integrity and compliance requirements across ISO/IEC 15288 process areas, including cybersecurity and regulatory compliance via STIG and RMF artifacts.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 105,000 - 120,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Have 9+ years (or commensurate experience) supporting systems engineering and/or Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).
•Five (5) years of experience supporting systems engineering and/or VDI.
•Clearance Required: Secret; must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
•Hands-on expertise with enterprise VDI platforms such as VMware Horizon (including Horizon 2512), ESXi, and vCenter.
•Familiarity with RMF and STIGs, secure baseline management, and cybersecurity compliance for virtualized/distributed environments.
