Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage a distributed team of engineers and oversee the observability portfolio.
  • •Organize and lead team processes to achieve objectives, including one-on-ones and team health indicators.
  • •Review code and provide architectural leadership, setting expectations and holding colleagues accountable.
  • •Collaborate with product managers and architects to produce an engineering roadmap and execute strategy.
  • •Represent Canonical and its observability stack by interacting with the community and attending conferences; travel up to four times per year.

Key Requirements

  • •Proven track record of professional software delivery, preferably with open source.
  • •Professional software development experience (Linux/Debian or Ubuntu preferred).
  • •Experience as an engineering manager building high-performance teams (nice to have if not required).
  • •Professional written and spoken English, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • •Strong programming and systems knowledge relevant to team observability products, with interest in observability design and monitoring.
