Job Summary

Operate and support vacuum and rotary atomization furnace processes, including preparing raw material charges, loading crucibles to spec, running furnace controls, and performing cleaning and housekeeping tasks. Assist with furnace chamber and coil maintenance, including minor repairs and preparing components between runs. Follow verbal and written instructions for repetitive tasks before/during/after pours, support continuous improvement and CORE/EH&S initiatives, and escalate issues to supervisors as needed.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform cleaning, monitoring, and securing operations to assist in set-up of vacuum atomization and rotary atomization furnaces.
•Load charge into crucibles to ensure amount, type, and elements match specifications, and follow instructions before and after pours and during atomization.
•Assist in preparing raw material charges, running the furnace control board, performing minor repairs, cleaning the atomization chamber, and carrying out housekeeping.
•Support removal and replacement of coils and cleaning the interior of the furnace chamber; transport and manage charge and equipment connections as directed.
•Support continuous improvement and CORE/EH&S initiatives, wear required personal protective equipment, and refer difficulties to supervisors or team leaders.

Key Requirements

•HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g., G.E.D. in the US).
•Good attendance record and strong communication skills.
•Must be able to work from heights up to 60 feet and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 25 pounds.
•Must be able to wear a respirator.
•Must have strong mechanical aptitude.
