Key Responsibilities

  • •Design heat rejection and HVAC systems tailored for data centers, including airflow management, humidity control, redundancy, maintainability, energy efficiency, and code compliance.
  • •Select appropriate cooling systems (e.g., CRAHs, chilled water systems, DX systems, CRAC units, in-row cooling, containment) based on cooling requirements and criticality.
  • •Identify and calculate cooling and heating thermal loads and develop equipment selection and sizing with compliance to standards like ASHRAE and SMACNA.
  • •Prepare specifications, drawings, calculation and technical reports, including plant drawings, system architecture, schematic diagrams, control single-line diagrams, P&IDs, and installation details.
  • •Model systems in Revit, review modeler drawings, generate Revit pressure drop reports and equipment tables, and coordinate with other disciplines to avoid design clashes.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering plus 8 years of experience in data center projects (or demonstrated equivalency).
  • •Excellent knowledge of data center TIER Standard Topology (Uptime Institute) and TIA 942, plus related standards.
  • •Experience with calculation software including HAP, Tracer 3D, EESV, and/or CYPE.
  • •Experience designing and analyzing air conditioning and mechanical ventilation systems for data centers, industrial, and institutional use.
  • •High level of English (written and spoken) and experience creating air/fluid flow diagrams, P&IDs, and sequence of operations.
