Key Responsibilities

  • •Hire, grow, and set the culture for an engineering team delivering Revenue Engine business outcomes.
  • •Own a core surface of Headway’s financial systems, co-owning the roadmap with a product partner.
  • •Set technical direction across architecture, build-vs-buy trade-offs, reliability targets, and data-model decisions.
  • •Define correctness metrics, instrument observability, and lead incident response/on-call for the domain.
  • •Partner cross-functionally with other Revenue Engine teams and Finance to ensure financial outputs are trustworthy and auditable.

Key Requirements

  • •3+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager, building and leading teams that delivered business outcomes through technical investment.
  • •3–5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer with depth in backend and distributed systems (event-driven architectures, workflow orchestration, or high-reliability data pipelines).
  • •Experience in correctness and data integrity–critical domains such as financial systems, payments, billing, claims, or similarly consequential areas.
  • •Experience de-risking complex migrations where correctness was non-negotiable.
