Job Summary

Build and evolve pricing systems that enable marketplace growth by balancing supply and demand and pros’ willingness to pay. Work with backend engineers, applied science/data science, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver product features, architect software components, and optimize pricing workflows. Help maintain operational stability of marketplace microservices and diagnose issues that impact performance or functionality.

•Drive engineering projects to completion with focus on business impact and urgency.
•Solve difficult technical problems while staying current with advances in the domain.
•Collaborate with engineers, analysts, data scientists, and product managers to improve pricing and budget systems.
•Maintain operational stability of the marketplace and underlying microservices, fixing bugs that degrade performance or functionality.
•Architect and build software components that support a fast-growing user base and improve pricing control for pros.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
•5+ years of industry experience in backend software engineering.
•Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
•Proficiency in at least one major programming language, with the ability to switch; current stack uses Go, Scala, and Python.
•Experience building software using databases such as Postgres and DynamoDB.
