Key Responsibilities

  • •Own threat research end-to-end: set the research agenda, detection content roadmap, and budget for AI security research.
  • •Lead the team hands-on: set technical direction, expand researchers’ coverage, and stay close to the work to remain credible.
  • •Own detection content that ships, including managed rulesets, cloud and identity detections, and drive measurable rule quality via adversarial validation.
  • •Own the detection platform and attack reproduction environments, including behavior-based detection and adversary-deception telemetry.
  • •Publish and operationalize research: produce original discoveries, campaigns, CVEs, conference talks, and open-source contributions; partner with Marketing and Product Engineering to turn research into field capability.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years in security research, threat research, or detection engineering, including 4+ years leading and developing researchers with ownership of agenda, outcomes, and budget.
  • •Experience conducting original AI security research, with published work or shipped detections across adversarial ML, agent/tool abuse paths, prompt-layer attacks, model supply chain, or AI-serving infrastructure attacks.
  • •Hands-on capability: writing code, building tooling, and running analysis personally.
  • •Public body of work such as original discovery, CVEs, named campaigns, conference talks, or open-source tooling used by others.
  • •Deep knowledge of Linux, containers, Kubernetes, and cloud internals at the syscall and control-plane level.
