Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the end-to-end lifecycle of the Group’s Material Controls population and Material Control Instances, including data quality, completeness, and currency.
  • •Establish and run governance confirming clear ownership, rationale, and linkages for each control and instance, including risks, processes, and issues.
  • •Define and oversee audit trail and evidence packs for decisions, changes, exceptions, and outcomes in line with internal and regulatory standards.
  • •Set and oversee change controls for control additions, removals, reclassification, and materiality decisions, including stakeholder sign-off where required.
  • •Monitor issues and controls to identify material weaknesses and potential disclosable items, partnering with 1LOD/2LOD and SMEs to validate severity and ensure robust remediation.

Key Requirements

  • •Substantial experience in controls oversight, control governance, and/or enterprise risk management in a complex global financial services environment.
  • •Strong understanding of the risk and control landscape, including regulatory expectations and how control weaknesses can lead to disclosures and reputational impact.
  • •Proven experience owning and assuring control populations/inventories (or equivalent governance datasets) with strong data quality and auditability standards.
  • •Ability to manage senior stakeholders across 1LOD, 2LOD, and oversight functions through constructive challenge.
  • •Strong judgement to assess materiality, escalate effectively, and maintain focus on risk reduction and defensible decision-making.
