Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversee food safety, quality, and regulatory programs to ensure USDA/FDA compliance, accurate documentation, and audit readiness.
  • •Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions while maintaining relationships with USDA inspectors.
  • •Drive food safety and quality improvement with FSQA and Operations teams to prevent HACCP, SSOP, and product/process failures.
  • •Design, manage, and track the facility’s sanitation program, including audits and microbial testing, with data-driven responses to issues.
  • •Lead and develop the FSQA team by managing staffing, schedules, performance reviews, and training, including cross-training coverage as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 8+ years’ experience in the food industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • •2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development or project leadership.
  • •Hands-on experience with microbiological testing of meat and poultry products, including knowledge of foodborne pathogens and microbiological/limited chemistry testing.
  • •Comprehensive knowledge of USDA, FSIS, HACCP, and SSOP requirements, with familiarity with QMS systems, SAP, and database/inventory software tools.
  • •Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to address inquiries from regulatory agencies, customers, and internal stakeholders while maintaining high documentation and compliance standards.
