Key Responsibilities

  • •Feed and water birds according to schedules; monitor temperature and lights and adjust as instructed.
  • •Walk floors daily to examine birds for signs of illness, treat as instructed, and handle mortality (including loading into the incinerator).
  • •Place pen partitions using calculations and segregate birds according to line and age of source.
  • •Clean and disinfect waterers and pens; perform routine housekeeping duties and repairs to pens and equipment.
  • •Record production and health information as instructed (e.g., line, MG, bird weight, medications, feed and water intake, and mortality).

Key Requirements

  • •Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps greater than 6 months in the past 36 months (or 18 months for laid off or child/elder care).
  • •Willing to shower, change clothing and footwear before entering the facility, and follow biosecurity and animal welfare guidelines.
  • •Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.).
  • •Must be able to perform physical requirements, including regular team lifting up to 35 pounds and frequent stooping/bending.
  • •Must follow safety policies and use required PPE (including N95 respirators as needed).
