Job Summary

Experienced process simulation engineer specializing in online process twins and optimization to bridge thermodynamic models with real-time data. You will deploy digital twins, optimize refinery performance, and collaborate with data teams, operations and engineering to improve process KPIs using advanced modeling and AI-enabled analytics within Saudi Aramco's Reliability Solutions Department.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the development, deployment, and sustainment of PST that integrate real-time process data with simulation engines in alignment with corporate objectives.
•Configure and troubleshoot connectivity between plant historians, laboratory information systems, and simulation software for data ingestion and reconciliation.
•Utilize PST to monitor facility health, detect deviations from ideal performance, and identify opportunity gaps.
•Develop and maintain thermodynamic models and equations representing processes to ensure PST accuracy (including heat exchanger fouling, catalyst decay, etc.).
•Lead offline studies using PST to analyze operational problems, debottleneck constraints, and what-if scenarios; act as liaison between data teams and Operations/Process Engineering.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
•Minimum of 15 years of experience in Process Simulations, Online Modeling, or Real-Time Optimization (ROMeo preferred); 20 years preferred
•Demonstrated expertise in process engineering and flowsheet-based process simulation; preferred Equation Oriented simulation
•Comprehensive understanding of refinery facilities, feedstock/product movements, margins, yields, and mass/energy balances
•Experience connecting simulations to live data sources (Data Historians, OPC, etc.) and data reconciliation
