Key Responsibilities

  • •Inspect chicks in the hatchers to determine quality and fitness for processing.
  • •Pull chicks, operate the chick counter, and move chick boxes to the belt for processing.
  • •Operate tray and box washing equipment, including operating a high-pressure hose and maintaining sanitation for hatchery areas.
  • •Monitor and record hatchery and setter temperatures; pad chick boxes and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Key Requirements

  • •12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no employment gaps greater than 6 months in the past 36 months (gaps increased to 18 months for layoffs or child/elder care).

  • •Must be able and willing to perform the physical requirements, including pushing/pulling chick boxes up to 125 lbs and lifting up to 50 lbs.
