Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop research objectives and proposals in the hosting laboratory’s area of integrative structural biology.
  • •Acquire, analyze, and interpret structural biology, biochemical, and biophysical data, including high-resolution single-particle cryo-EM data.
  • •Operate the cryo-EM microscope and manage cryo-EM workflow from sample/grid preparation to data analysis protocols.
  • •Produce biomolecular complexes using molecular biology techniques, optimizing sample production, purification, and preparation of cryo-EM grids.
  • •Disseminate research findings through publications, research seminars, and posters, and supervise students where appropriate.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 36,636 - 46,049 annually

Key Requirements

  • •PhD (or near to completion) in Biophysics, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Structural Biology, or related fields, or equivalent qualifications.
  • •Proficiency in single-particle cryo-EM including data acquisition, image processing, three-dimensional reconstruction, and structural analysis.
  • •Proficiency in sample preparation for cryo-EM and practical experience in a biochemical laboratory and/or handling nucleic acids.
  • •Ability to communicate complex information clearly through written and oral communication, including scientific writing and publication in peer-reviewed journals.
  • •Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary, international research environment, coordinating activities efficiently.
