Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop designs for mechanical distribution systems from CHW, HVAC, Fuel to LTHW.
  • •Lead the design of data centre mechanical systems and equipment, including producing system options reports and technical specifications.
  • •Coordinate with other disciplines (architect and structural engineers) and compile calculations and tender documentation.
  • •Monitor installation of designed equipment/systems to ensure compliance with requirements, design specifications, and safety codes.
  • •Perform discipline feasibility studies and take responsibility for directing others’ detailed and performance specification output prior to issue.

Key Requirements

  • •Knowledge and experience designing mechanical systems for data centres.
  • •Chartered status (or working towards Chartered status) with CIBSE or IMechE (or equivalent).
  • •Technical MEP knowledge of relevant UK and EU regulations and design guides.
  • •Understanding of the Uptime Institute Tier Classification System.
  • •Working understanding of TAS of IES and Hevacomp, and of RevitMEP (or other 3D design software) and AutoCAD.
