Key Responsibilities

  • •Follow SHE standards and specific legislation related to vehicle control, and adhere to work instructions and standards.
  • •Attend safety meetings, identify hazards and safety deviations, and apply SLAM/HIRA/Mini HIRA while reporting safety/health issues.
  • •Safely operate and control mining equipment and vehicles to transport materials and support operational plans, ensuring compliance with procedures and requirements.
  • •Conduct thorough pre-shift and walk-around inspections, and report equipment defects or deviations to the supervisor for timely remedial action.
  • •Respond to emergencies and collaborate with operators, supervisors, and maintenance to support cohesive operations and achieve production targets.

Key Requirements

  • •Grade 12/N3 Technical qualification.
  • •Valid SA Drivers Licence.
  • •Red Permit Certified.
  • •Relevant HME (heavy mobile equipment) licences.
  • •Entry-level role requiring practical experience through internships or relevant work, plus knowledge of mine traffic rules, radio and pre-shift inspection procedures, and safety standards.
