Job Summary

Remove and discard scrap materials and products to meet established specifications while complying with Metals Recycling Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Maintain yard cleanliness and assist with operational tasks such as debris removal at the shredder and picking belts, greasing/cleanup at shears or shredders, and supporting repairs and maintenance. Report equipment deficiencies and provide backup assistance throughout the yard as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

•Adhere to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and provide a safe environment for employees, customers, and visitors.
•Perform general clean up and yard maintenance, including digging, sweeping, maintaining weeds and brush, and repairing blacktop.
•Remove non-metallic material, metal, and debris at the shredder and non-ferrous picking belts.
•Grease and perform general cleanup at the shear and/or shredder.
•Report equipment deficiencies or malfunctions to the proper supervisor and assist with repairs, maintenance, and yard backup as needed.

Key Requirements

•Ability to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
•Ability to learn new tasks as assigned.
•Experience in a scrap yard preferred.

•Must meet age requirements for the applicable country (US: 18+, Canada: 16+).
