Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and manage water resource management studies for mining projects from conceptual design through implementation and optimization.
  • •Utilize hydrology/hydraulic modeling and simulation tools to predict water-related risks and evaluate mitigation measures.
  • •Evaluate mine tailings dam integrity, including computed-aided models for dam break scenarios.
  • •Conduct hydrological studies and storm analysis using desk-based research, conceptual/analytical/numerical modeling, and uncertainty-aware data analysis.
  • •Prepare detailed reports and presentations, manage client interactions via proposals/reports, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years total experience in water resources engineering, including flood-related studies for environmental assessments and infrastructure design projects.
  • •Strong knowledge of hydrology, hydraulics, and water quality modeling practices and guidelines (Australian guidelines preferred).
  • •Experience using hydrology and hydraulic modeling software such as TUFLOW, ICM, HEC-RAS, and GIS tools like QGIS.
  • •Ability to analyze storms and perform hydraulic computations and 1D/2D hydraulic simulations to estimate floods and assess risks.
  • •Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with effective communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder collaboration.
