You will develop and test CAN/OBDII/J1939 solutions, debug embedded firmware on vehicle ECUs, and collaborate with product and field teams to improve data bus diagnostics, driver performance features, and vehicle parameter handling across passenger and commercial vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop CAN-based telematics devices and test procedures.
•Debug and modify embedded software directly on Vehicle CAN devices to resolve communication and integration issues.
•Troubleshoot problems across passenger and commercial vehicles (Class 1-8) and refine ECU parameters.
•Collaborate with Product Management to enhance J1939/OBDII solutions across makes/models, addressing root-cause issues and adding ECM PIDs/features.
•Capture, catalog, and maintain a library of Data Bus logs for various vehicle types and support testing for internal and external customers.

Travel: Medium travel

Key Requirements

•5+ years of experience developing, analyzing, troubleshooting, and working with commercial and passenger vehicle telematics (CAN Bus Protocols - J1939, OBDII, and UDS)
•Experience on aftermarket/in line Telematics products for commercial and passenger vehicles
•Expertise in C/C++ programming, microcontroller bring-up, and firmware development with interfaces such as USB, UART, SPI, and I2C
•Experience with reverse engineering vehicle data bus parameters/PIDs (Throttle Position/Odometer on OBDII)
•Vehicle Simulator Experience (Vector CANalyzer, AU Simulators, Intrepid Vehicle Spy Pro)
