Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair mechanical/electrical/hydraulic and electronic systems on trucks and trailers, including brakes, steering, engines, transmissions, and related equipment.
  • •Inspect, test, and road test defective equipment to identify malfunctions; use appropriate tools and test instruments.
  • •Manage parts inventory and equipment on the company-issued service truck, including reconciliation, and complete required documentation and repair orders.
  • •Maintain and operate the service vehicle, conduct pre-/post-trip safety checks, and document findings with photos using the company-issued iOS device and proprietary TRAIT application.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or 5 years’ experience).
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform the job duties.
  • •Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.
  • •Successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment (or submit a valid DOT medical card with >4 months remaining).
  • •Be at least 21 years or older; hold a valid driver’s license, obtain/maintain a Driver Qualification File, and meet safe-driver requirements with a 3 YR MVR review.
