Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade Surface ship Torpedo Counter Measures and Defense AN/SLQ-25 electronic systems. Fabricate and modify electronic/electro-mechanical equipment using schematics, test setups, and standard measurement tools, while diagnosing malfunctions and documenting results in test and inspection reports. Work onboard ships in industrial environments and occasionally lead or guide less-experienced technicians.

Key Responsibilities

•Fabricate, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify electronic and mechanical developmental/production equipment, parts, components, and systems.
•Perform complex technical functions including circuit testing, calibration, and troubleshooting of electronic or electro-mechanical components and systems.
•Conduct engineering tests/experiments, record gathered test data, and make minor modifications to test setups or procedures.
•Diagnose and isolate malfunctions when standard corrective measures fail, and construct/assemble components or simple models as needed.
•Generate test and inspection reports and review/comment on system test procedures; may provide guidance to less-experienced technicians.

•Associate’s Degree in a related technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience).
•Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams and follow detailed troubleshooting instructions.
•Ability to follow written and oral instructions and work independently and with others.
•Must be able to work onboard ships in industrial environments and wear required PPE.
