Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead ingestion and consumption engineering areas within Plato Data Platform, including Flink-based streaming pipelines and StarRocks-based MPP query/serving.
  • •Own full-lifecycle platform delivery focused on reliability, performance, cost, and scale of critical data infrastructure.
  • •Tackle deep technical challenges around throughput, latency, cost, and reliability at massive scale.
  • •Drive engineering leadership at the core of Atlassian’s data strategy.
  • •Grow and shape the team through hiring, coaching, and retaining senior engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years in software engineering with 4+ years managing engineering teams, with experience managing senior ICs and/or managers preferred.
  • •Led teams building/operating data platform systems for streaming/ingestion (Flink or Spark) and/or MPP query engines (StarRocks or alternatives such as Trino, Apache Pinot, Apache Doris).
  • •Proven operational management of high-scale data platform systems in production, including reliability, performance, cost, and data-quality/observability.
  • •Strong technical depth in distributed systems and large-scale data infrastructure, including Kubernetes and GCP/AWS.
  • •Proven people leadership through hiring, growing, coaching, and retaining senior engineers.
