Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as Employment Counsel by reviewing and updating employment policies and advising on accommodations, performance management, terminations, recruiting, hiring, and compensation/benefits.
  • •Manage employment law claims and arbitration, including litigation and discovery, and support employee investigations in partnership with HR Business Partners.
  • •Support product and marketing teams by reviewing, drafting, and negotiating revenue and vendor agreements, and communicating legal guidance clearly to internal stakeholders.
  • •Implement processes to ensure product compliance and continuously improve legal operations by identifying and driving improvements to forms, processes, and operations.
  • •Support contract review, privacy/data guidance, and occasional assistance with M&A deals and onboarding integrated teams.

Key Requirements

  • •6+ years of relevant in-house and/or law firm experience, including a mix of employment, product counsel, and/or corporate counsel.
  • •3+ years as Employment Counsel and 3+ years as Product Counsel, or 3+ years as Corporate Counsel.
  • •Deep knowledge of California and/or New York employment laws and applicable federal employment laws.
  • •Member of at least one state bar, preferably California or New York.
  • •Experience advising on consumer protection and drafting/negotiating commercial agreements, including understanding privacy laws (CCPA, GDPR, GLBA).
