Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment including electrical/brake/cooling systems, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
  • •Inspect, test, and troubleshoot defective equipment using tools such as handheld computers and pressure gauges, and road test vehicles to confirm proper operation.
  • •Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the company-issued service truck, including periodic reconciliation and pre-/post-trip safety inspections.
  • •Document work in accordance with company standards by completing repair orders (RO) and DOT forms, and communicate with management/support to obtain approvals and PO numbers.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or equivalent combination such as a related certification/degree beyond HS, or 5 years’ experience).
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
  • •Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
  • •Be able to successfully complete and pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
  • •Hold a current valid DOT medical card (or DOT physical required based on remaining validity), and have a valid driver’s license with a maintained Driver Qualification File.
