Key Responsibilities

  • •Draft, review, and negotiate agreements for intellectual property and consumer products licensing, including trademarks/copyrights, endorsements, character appearances, sponsorships, and location-based events.
  • •Develop contract templates, playbooks, and internal guidance to improve licensing efficiency and consistency.
  • •Identify legal and commercial risks and propose practical, business-oriented solutions while advising senior business stakeholders.
  • •Support brand protection and anti-counterfeiting efforts, including cease-and-desist coordination and enforcement program support.
  • •Advise on children’s advertising and privacy compliance (COPPA, FTC guidelines, CARU), assist with royalty audits, and manage licensing agreement lifecycle (renewals/terminations/defaults/cure notices).

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 165,000 - 180,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and a valid license to practice law in New York State.
  • •8+ years of relevant legal experience supporting intellectual property licensing, consumer products, entertainment, or related commercial transactions in-house and/or at a nationally recognized law firm.
  • •Proven ability to own priorities and initiatives, with strong accountability and execution.
  • •Demonstrated ability to manage up by clarifying needs, aligning on projects, and proactively communicating priorities, risks, and progress.
  • •Experience leveraging legal technology for AI-assisted research and drafting (e.g., Harvey/Claude) plus proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
