Key Responsibilities

  • •Execute advanced engineering techniques under broad direction, making decisions on engineering problems and representing the organization to resolve technical questions.
  • •Run specialized SDL services such as LaserStrat and/or serve as a Well Site Geologist for assigned wells.
  • •Set performance standards for crew success across phases of remote monitoring jobs and ensure timely delivery of specialized service outputs.
  • •Maintain accurate logging and reporting deliverables, including depth/gas/ROP/lag time and generating zone-of-interest and show documentation.
  • •Ensure safe, professional equipment setup and rig-down/inventory procedures, and properly brief relief personnel and ensure smooth personnel changeovers.

Key Requirements

  • •Act as a working supervisor for SDL and remote monitoring work, executing Senior Unit Manager duties and overseeing subordinates in the crew.
  • •Collect accurate factual logging data (depth, gas units/composition, rate of penetration, lag time, engineering data/calculations, pressure detection).
  • •Interpret logging information to determine occurrence and composition of oil and/or gas shows while drilling, and analyze/document SDL zone of interest and show reports.
  • •Assemble mud logs and update the INSITE Drilling Database per Halliburton SDL and/or customer guidelines, and communicate required mud logging information (e.g., morning report, show notifications, engineering problems, delivery of mud logs).
  • •Minimum 5-1/2 years of relevant experience (average 6-9 years), with engineering/geology degree background, competency to ROC and/or Field Unit Mgr-SDL requirements, and ability to maintain safety/compliance under moderate to critical conditions.
