Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and grow the Kai engineering team, managing, coaching, and developing AI, backend, and frontend engineers while raising the engineering bar.
  • •Define and evolve agent orchestration, context/retrieval, tool integrations, identity/access control, and observability architecture.
  • •Deliver trusted, production-grade AI features from discovery through launch and iteration using clear success metrics and real-world feedback.
  • •Create evaluation and safety release disciplines, including versioned practices, launch criteria, staged rollout/rollback, and regression monitoring.
  • •Drive end-to-end engineering excellence across resilient, scalable systems (services, APIs, data pipelines, reliability, performance, testing, incident response) and define SLOs.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading, managing, or formally mentoring engineers.
  • •Deep experience designing and operating scalable agentic architecture and backend/distributed systems.
  • •Fluency in AI product/platform engineering: retrieval, model integration, agent workflows, evaluation, and observability.
  • •A disciplined approach to quality and reliability, including monitoring, incident management, and operational readiness.
  • •Security-minded engineering practices, including authentication, authorization, data protection, auditability, and abuse prevention.
