CHIEF OFFICER

Lead and manage deck ratings and oversee day-to-day vessel operations, including planned maintenance and deck crew planning. Serve as officer in charge by standing navigational watch, supervise loading/offloading and ballast operations, and supervise deck anchor handling. Maintain medical logs and inventory, act as shipboard safety officer responsible for safety equipment and procedures, and take over command if the master is absent or incapacitated.
