Job Summary

Support product cost optimization, value engineering, and cost analysis across engineering programs. Partner with design engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, finance, and product management to identify cost-saving opportunities while protecting quality, performance, and compliance. Lead cost engineering for development and improvement projects by building cost models and should-cost estimates, performing design-to-value teardowns, and providing supplier/RFQ and negotiation technical insights.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and support cost engineering activities for new product development and existing product improvement projects.
•Develop and maintain detailed cost models, should-cost estimates, and cost breakdown structures for components, assemblies, and systems.
•Partner with engineering, category management, procurement, and manufacturing teams to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities.
•Analyze product designs, materials, manufacturing processes, and supplier quotations to assess cost drivers and compare costs.
•Drive VAVE/design-to-cost initiatives via product teardowns and support make-versus-buy, supplier benchmarking, and RFQ/negotiation technical discussions.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
•8-12 years of experience in cost engineering, value engineering, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, or sourcing support.
•Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, casting, molding, welding, and assembly.
•Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
•Proficiency with Excel and cost analysis tools such as aPriori and TcPCM, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
