Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide engineering expertise and technical support for Ingredion locations to support safety, quality, manufacturing, and business goals, including mechanical design and troubleshooting of solids handling and packaging equipment.
  • •Partner with internal and external customers to deliver bulk-powder packaging solutions that enhance customer experience and operational profitability.
  • •Maintain awareness of current and emerging dry powder packaging technologies and recommend applications to improve performance worldwide.
  • •Develop technical specifications, best practices, and recommendations for bulk packaging equipment and materials; support capital projects through reviews, installation, checkout, start-up, testing, and optimization.
  • •Support technical consulting and contract negotiation needs for selected supplies, equipment, engineering services, and construction services; lead task forces and mentor colleagues.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with significant experience in industrial packaging engineering; Mechanical Engineering preferred (chemical/industrial/packaging/electrical also considered).
  • •Experience with packaging equipment for bulk powders (primary focus) and liquids (minor focus), such as robots, metal detection, force flow packers, screeners, and magnets.
  • •Knowledge of sizing, design, fabrication, troubleshooting, failure analysis, GMP, and safety requirements for packaging equipment.
  • •Ability to optimize packaging materials to prevent damage during handling and in transit.
  • •Strong communication skills for presentations, tests/results, and concise reports and engineering documentation (including P&ID development).
