Job Summary

Design reliable, cost-effective mechanical product solutions and lead a project team of mechanical hardware engineers and internal/external development partners. Deliver product designs and assemblies to production while meeting functionality, reliability, safety, and performance requirements. Build and execute validation test plans (tolerances, shock/vibration, EMI, safety, reliability, fan curves, power and acoustics), manage partner/supplier relationships, and mentor less-experienced staff.

Key Responsibilities

•Design engineering solutions and drive development of moderately complex products using subject matter expertise.
•Deliver product design and assemblies to production on time, cost, and specification (functionality, reliability, safety, performance).
•Develop and implement parameters and test plans, including validation of tolerances, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, fan curves, system power measurements, and acoustics.
•Lead a project team and manage relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers to ensure quality, schedule, and cost expectations.
•Generate process efficiencies through quality documentation and project management, and provide guidance/mentoring to less experienced staff.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or commensurate experience.
•Typically 4-10 years of work experience in engineering design and solutions.
•Experience implementing across the hardware development lifecycle.
•Ability to develop parameters and test plans for new and existing designs, including validation of tolerances and form/fit/function.
•Experience working with internal and outsourced development partners, suppliers, and stakeholders on design status and issue resolution.
