Key Responsibilities

  • •Produce electrical building services designs predominantly for railway stations and other railway buildings from conception to scheduled completion.
  • •Design low-voltage reticulation and distribution systems (230/400V) including UPS sources.
  • •Operate AMTECH to design low-voltage systems, select cable types and protective devices, and present results.
  • •Design general lighting and emergency lighting systems, including lighting types/sources and lighting design software usage.
  • •Supervise and verify designers/modellers work and guide/mentor Assistant Engineers/Engineers; coordinate project progress through early lifecycle stages (e.g., LUL, GRIP, RIBA).

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelors/Masters degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • •8–11 years of working with electrical design.
  • •Qualifications meeting engineering institution chartership requirements.
  • •Knowledge of BS7671 and BS5266 requirements (e.g., City & Guilds 2382 for Electrical Installations).
  • •Extensive rail-station experience with good working knowledge of Network Rail, TfL and LUL standards.
