Job Summary

Design, document, and implement multi-tier platform and product services across databases, APIs, and web layers. Build scalable, low-latency features for current and future growth in a SaaS environment, and troubleshoot complex production issues. Lead your teams’ engineering roadmap as a hands-on systems architect, improve system health by managing technical debt, and raise standards through code reviews and CI/CD. Mentor engineers and work cross-functionally to deliver reliable customer developer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

•Own and deliver the engineering roadmap for your teams as an engineering leader.
•Design and deliver scalable, low-latency, cost-efficient platform solutions as a systems architect.
•Build APIs, services, and platform features that scale across current and future Freshworks products.
•Troubleshoot complex production issues in distributed SaaS environments, analyze root causes, and define preventive measures.
•Establish and enforce maintainability standards through coding, code reviews, and quality standards integrated into CI/CD; mentor engineers across functions.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience.
•10+ years of relevant professional experience in software engineering and systems/platform engineering.
•Expert-level experience with Python or Java and Spring-based backend development.
•Strong understanding of distributed systems, multi-tier application architecture, databases, APIs, services, and web-layer design.
•Extensive experience with Linux environments and production troubleshooting in SaaS systems.
