Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide non-medical, short-term, walk-around counseling to eligible service members and families at assigned locations, including assessment, brief counseling, action planning, referral, and follow-up
  • •Deliver health and wellness training/presentations and participate in base activities to support installation health initiatives
  • •Enter counselor activity data daily via smartphone or web application while maintaining confidentiality
  • •Establish and maintain relationships with community resources and coordinate with installation points of contact to ensure services meet installation needs
  • •Respond to critical incidents, surge events, and special requests as directed, with flexibility in scheduling as needed

Key Requirements

  • •Master's degree in mental health-related field (social work, psychology, marriage/family therapy, or counseling) from an accredited program
  • •Valid unrestricted independent counseling license (state/DC/territory/commonwealth)
  • •Minimum 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience
  • •Demonstrate intermediate-level technology/software competency (e.g., Microsoft Suite, internet navigation, mobile apps, video-conferencing)
  • •Ability to engage with military members and families at various locations and travel as needed
