Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and support public policy strategies to protect and improve Visa’s overall tax position across jurisdictions worldwide.
  • •Monitor and track global tax policies, trends, and negotiations (national authorities and international organizations) and assess effects on Visa and clients.
  • •Collaborate across Global Government Affairs, legal, regulatory, and global tax functions to coordinate and support Visa’s tax priorities, including country-by-country reporting with Investor Relations, Finance, Tax, and Communications.
  • •Advise executives as a subject matter expert on corporate cross-border tax issues and implications of global tax policies and negotiations for Visa, clients, and the payments industry.
  • •Create tax-policy collateral and deliver analysis/briefing materials for executive engagement and external stakeholders, coordinating with trade associations, third parties, and consultants.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 8+ years with an advanced degree, or 3+ years with a PhD.
  • •Strong technical knowledge of direct and indirect taxes and emerging taxes for the digital economy (e.g., digital services taxes, VAT, Significant Economic Presence taxes).
  • •In-depth experience with legislative, regulatory, and tax-policy processes including work outside the United States.
  • •Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including public speaking and translating complex concepts for policymakers.
  • •Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and SharePoint, including developing complex PowerPoint presentations.
