Job Summary

Lead and manage engineering design projects for the UK electricity transmission and distribution sector, overseeing work from FEED through project closeout. Provide end-to-end project management (resourcing, risk, and financial oversight), serve as a key client point of contact, and ensure compliance with WSP/client design processes, safety standards, UK Construction regulations, and National Grid procedures. Assemble global project teams, manage stakeholders and subcontractors, and pursue new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead large-scale design projects across all phases from FEED to project closeout.
•Provide overall project management, including resourcing, risk management, and financial oversight.
•Act as a key point of contact for clients to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction.
•Ensure compliance with WSP and client design processes and safety standards.
•Act as Lead Contractor Design Approval Engineer (LCDAE) and principal designer representative (PD Rep), managing compliance with UK Construction regulations and National Grid procedures.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with design management experience.
•Advanced understanding of UK CDM Regulations and form of contracts (NEC, FIDIC).
•Proven experience managing multiple high-value, complex projects.
•Experience working on National Grid Electricity Transmission projects (advantage).
•Strong technical, contractual, financial management skills, with the ability to mentor junior staff.
