Key Responsibilities

  • •Administer, enhance, and troubleshoot the NIH paging and on-call scheduling systems in a 24x7 production setting with rotating on-call duties.
  • •Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Spok systems and related communication platforms.
  • •Manage database configurations, stored procedures, server integrations, and API-based application connections.
  • •Diagnose complex issues across servers, applications, databases, networking, and paging hardware (pagers, mobile devices, PBX systems).
  • •Perform daily monitoring, log reviews, performance checks, backups/scheduled jobs, and maintain runbooks and troubleshooting playbooks.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science/related OR seven years of relevant experience.
  • •Minimum 3 years of system engineering or system administration experience.
  • •Hands-on experience with Spok or similar communication/paging systems.
  • •Strong troubleshooting across Windows Server/IIS, SQL databases, application stacks and API integrations, networking/firewalls/load balancers, and PBX/telephony components.
  • •Ability to obtain and maintain an NIH Public Trust clearance; strong communication and customer-support skills.
