Key Responsibilities

  • •Adhere to safety, health, and environmental practices and escalate unsafe practices or risks.
  • •Rigorously validate borehole data using QA/QC monitoring data and document suitability for sampling.
  • •Execute solid modelling and develop solids models reflecting ore genesis, borehole data, local stratigraphy, and tectonic regimes.
  • •Validate Geological Medium-Term Model (MTM) and ensure compliance with governance, including peer review and documentation of actions.
  • •Run monthly Value Chain Reconciliation processes and prepare handover reports and audit-ready records of modelling activities.

Key Requirements

  • •B.Sc. Geology (Hons preferred).
  • •SACNASP membership.
  • •Previous exploration and mining geology experience specific to iron ore (6–8 years).
  • •Knowledge of tectono-stratigraphy and how it impacts resource estimation.
  • •Technical knowledge of resource modelling software (e.g., Leapfrog and Surpac) plus basic understanding of mining methods.
  • •SA Drivers Licence Code B.
