Key Responsibilities

  • •Own end-to-end root cause failure analysis investigations for microelectronics failing in manufacturing, test, and field returns.
  • •Conduct advanced electrical fault isolation and characterization using techniques including curve trace, TDR, and RF characterization.
  • •Perform advanced physical failure analysis using tools such as SEM, FIB, EDS, SAM, and cross-sectioning to identify failure mechanisms.
  • •Apply physics-of-failure and semiconductor failure mode knowledge to determine root causes.
  • •Drive corrective actions with silicon design, packaging, and manufacturing teams and author detailed technical reports documenting findings and verification.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field such as materials science, electrical engineering, physics, or chemical engineering.
  • •5+ years of hands-on experience in microelectronics failure analysis or materials characterization (internship experience is applicable).
  • •Direct experience with failure analysis tools and techniques such as SEM, FIB, EDS, or fault isolation.
  • •Strong understanding of semiconductor physics and common microelectronics failure mechanisms (e.g., electromigration, thermal fatigue, delamination, EOS/ESD, solder joint fatigue).
  • •Ability to work in a cleanroom or ESD-controlled environment when required.
