Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead technical execution of inspection, analysis, design, and regulatory compliance activities for fish passage and fish exclusion at hydraulic structures.
  • •Perform hydrologic analyses including flood frequency estimates, statistical hydrology, and model preparation, calibration, and verification.
  • •Conduct hydraulic structure modeling for river diversions and intakes using one- and two-dimensional approaches and spreadsheet calculations.
  • •Lead design and evaluation of fish passage/exclusion structures such as fish ladders, screens, nature-like bypasses, and barriers for native fish protection.
  • •Prepare technical reports, drawings, specifications, and calculations; review others’ deliverables; communicate with clients and multi-disciplinary stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of related experience with fish passage and fish screening design, evaluation, or regulation.
  • •Master of Science or Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Hydrologic, Hydraulic, and/or Water Resources Engineering.
  • •Professional Engineer in Colorado (or ability to obtain PE within 6 months of hire).
  • •Experience with HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS (one- and two-dimensional modeling).
  • •Experience with ESRI ArcMap or ArcPro and AutoDesk AutoCAD Civil 3D (FLOW-3D a plus).
