Job Summary

Maintain and repair mechanical equipment for power generation and balance-of-plant systems to keep units running efficiently and reduce downtime. Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance with limited supervision, including on-call duties. Work safely under EHS standards, analyze repeated breakdowns, and implement resolutions. Support technician engineers or handle assigned jobs independently, directing contract workforce to execute repairs in line with agreed plans.

Job Function: Field Service, Maintenance & Skilled Trades

Key Responsibilities

•Repair and maintain mechanical equipment and systems in the power plant.
•Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance repairs with minimum supervision, including on-call duties when required.
•Assist technician engineers or complete allocated jobs independently by applying relevant methods, procedures, and associated risk understanding.
•Carry out maintenance in line with EHS standards and plant operating requirements to minimize workplace accidents or inquiries.
•Monitor repeated breakdowns and suggest/implement solutions to prevent reoccurrence, directing contract workforce to execute repairs per agreed plans.

Key Requirements

•Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a Craft/Trade certificate (or equivalent qualification).
•5 years of similar experience in a thermal power plant (Diploma holders) or 8 years in mechanical maintenance (Craft/Trade certificate holders).
•Hands-on experience with GE Frame 9E/9FA gas turbines, steam turbines, waste heat boilers, thermal desalination, and other BOP equipment overhauls.
•Familiarity with mechanical maintenance tools and the ability to select required tools and equipment to complete safe, effective work.
•Fluency in English (speak, read, and write) to a good standard, with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills (including shift work).
