Key Responsibilities

  • •Design protection, control, and RTU schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation for dependable substation operation.
  • •Produce remote terminal unit schematics and AC/DC auxiliary-system designs aligned with project, utility, and client requirements.
  • •Contribute to relay-setting calculations, protection-coordination studies, and equipment specifications under guidance.
  • •Collaborate with engineers, designers, project managers, and other disciplines to deliver construction-ready design packages.
  • •Support feasibility studies, proposals, estimates, design reviews, site visits, commissioning, testing, and field troubleshooting.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution, with eligibility to register as an Engineer-in-Training with Professional Engineers Ontario where required.
  • •0-3 years of experience in protection and controls design with foundational knowledge of power-system protection principles and substation equipment.
  • •Ability to develop and interpret protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, RTU interfaces, and AC/DC auxiliary-system documentation.
  • •Familiarity with relay-setting calculations, protection coordination, equipment specifications, and applicable CSA, IEEE, and IEC standards.
  • •Analytical and technical judgment to identify design issues and maintain document accuracy in multidisciplinary teams.
