Design and deliver core marketplace datasets, data marts, and feature stores that power analytics, data science, and machine learning across Thumbtack. Build and maintain a cohesive data warehouse and data best practices throughout the software development lifecycle, integrating data from production databases, clickstream, and external APIs. Drive data quality, collaborate closely with engineering stakeholders, and help accelerate development velocity with AI-enabled workflows using a modern stack built around BigQuery, dbt, and Apache Airflow.

Key Responsibilities

•Refine and promote a framework for integrating data-thinking into the software development lifecycle for product teams.
•Design, architect, and maintain core marketplace datasets, data marts, and feature stores supporting a growing product line.
•Collaborate with product engineers, analysts, data scientists, and machine learning engineers to define datasets with strong engineering rigor.
•Drive data quality and best practices across different business areas.
•Help build next-generation data products using real-time data products on top of Apache Kafka.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 180,200 - 233,200 annually

Key Requirements

•4+ years designing and building data sets and warehouses.
•Expertise in SQL for analytics/reporting/business intelligence and building SQL- and Python-based transforms inside an ETL pipeline.
•Experience designing, architecting, and maintaining a data warehouse and data marts that stitch together data from production databases, clickstream data, and external APIs.
•Experience building the above using a modern, cloud-native data stack (BigQuery, dbt, and Apache Airflow or similar).
•Strong collaboration skills with Analytics stakeholders and the ability to identify process improvements across teams.
