Job Summary

Install and terminate low-voltage audiovisual cabling for AVI-SPL customer projects, including cable pulls, rack fabrication/wiring, and equipment layout. Interpret system schematics and construction blueprints, test point-to-point functionality, and ensure jobsite readiness by tracking tools and associated equipment. Lead and direct Level 1 technicians on smaller projects, provide client training, coordinate with other trades, and report daily status to the Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform AV installation tasks including cable pulls, cable terminations, equipment/components setup, and rack fabrication and wiring.
•Lead and direct installation crews on less complex projects by coordinating and reporting progress to the Project Manager.
•Demonstrate jobsite leadership and oversee Level 1 technicians’ work quality.
•Read and interpret system schematics and architectural/construction blueprints; use hand/power tools to install and connect AV systems.
•Test point-to-point cabling/system functionality, manage tools/equipment on site, and communicate daily status and on-site change requests to the Project Manager.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 2–4 years of audiovisual installation experience and a high school diploma or equivalent.
•Intermediate understanding of audio-visual systems (projectors, screens, speakers, microphones, video conferencing, digital signage, control systems).
•Intermediate proficiency installing, terminating, and troubleshooting low-voltage cabling (HDMI, CAT5e/6, fiber optic) with conduit runs and cable trays.
•Intermediate ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues with AV equipment and systems, including network infrastructure integration (IP-based systems, streaming, cloud-based services).
•Valid driver’s license and a motor vehicle record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards.
