Key Responsibilities

  • •Review and approve critical aftermarket repair processes used in manufacturing and repair of engine hardware, including welding, brazing, heat treatment, surface finishing, coatings, chemical processes, adhesive bonding, and composites.
  • •Review and qualify supplier repair processes for commercial and military hardware to ensure they meet DER-approved technical data requirements.
  • •Evaluate materials and processing needs, and assess gas turbine engine hardware, including operation sheets, process monitoring, and inspection/testing results.
  • •Document and analyze qualification data/results, prepare reports, and generate standard work to substantiate process readiness.
  • •Identify repair steps and estimate associated costs, and travel to sources as needed to witness and verify process readiness.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor of Science in Engineering (or similar technical field) with minimum 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with minimum 5 years experience.
  • •7+ years of experience in one or more areas such as welding, brazing, shot peening, heat treatment, surface finishing, joining, coating, chemical processes, stripping, adhesive bonding, composites, and surface treatments.
  • •Hands-on engineering experience supporting design, manufacturing, and/or materials engineering related to the above processes.
  • •Experience reviewing and qualifying repair processes to meet technical data requirements (DER-approved technical data).
  • •Ability to review detailed operation sheets, assess process monitoring, and evaluate non-destructive/destructive testing and material property results.
