Build and maintain Compass’s end-to-end, real-estate platform by owning distributed, event-driven microservices and cloud infrastructure. •Architect, build, and maintain high-performance, distributed, event-driven microservices and cloud infrastructure with seamless frontend integration.
•Independently define, decompose, and lead delivery of complex technical projects and subsystems across the stack.
•Integrate intelligent automation by operationalizing modern software patterns with AI models, data pipelines, and telemetry to automate workflows.
•Perform rigorous code and design reviews and write automated tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end) while improving codebase quality and performance.
•Own the domain by creating technical documentation (architecture diagrams, runbooks, specs) and mentoring peers to level up the team.

Key Requirements

•5+ years of professional software development experience delivering complex technical projects autonomously (3+ years fast-tracked execution also considered).
•BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
•Backend-leaning proficiency in languages such as Go or Java, with strong API design and distributed systems knowledge.
•Frontend-leaning expertise in modern frontend frameworks such as React, with UI/UX execution and browser performance; plus understanding of backend APIs and integrations.
•Solid experience designing and operating cloud-based microservices on major cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred, GCP or Azure).
