Job Summary

Maintain and repair light, medium, and heavy vehicles and trailers to keep the fleet safe and cost-efficient. Diagnose mechanical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and complete DOT inspections while following safety and environmental procedures. Work with shop orders and DVIR reports, record time and parts, and assist or train other mechanics as needed in a night-shift role in Tarboro.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform repairs and preventive maintenance in a productive, efficient, and SAFE manner.
•Diagnose problems, test repairs, and complete removal and replacement of components across mechanical systems.
•Maintain vehicles and trailers by reviewing shop orders and DVIR reports, and communicate additional needed repairs to the lead technician.
•Record time and parts used, provide parts lists to the lead technician, and follow housekeeping and company policies/procedures.
•Perform DOT inspections and comply with environmental laws and internal EMS/SIPS/BMS policies; read and follow emergency notification processes.

Salary: USD 28.3 hourly

Key Requirements

•High school diploma/GED with 2+ years of automotive or truck maintenance experience and/or training, or 5+ years of direct automotive/truck maintenance experience.
•Vocational/technical diploma or an Associate's degree from a technical maintenance or vocational school (preferred/plus).
•Valid driver license with acceptable driving record; CDL-A preferred.
•Basic computer skills and appropriate inventory of hand tools.
•Ability to operate hoisting and jacking equipment; welding experience and diesel engine mechanical experience are preferred.
