Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the international communications strategy, including the ex-US plan for corporate reputation, media relations, executive visibility, and product milestones.
  • •Build and govern an international communications operating model across in-house, partner, and agency-led markets with clear decision rights.
  • •Protect reputation by managing ex-US issues and escalation thresholds, partnering with Legal, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Compliance, Market Access, and International leadership.
  • •Develop the international voice through senior media relationships and ex-US company spokesperson responsibilities, building a local spokesperson bench.
  • •Lead launch communications and milestone coverage across ex-US regulatory, reimbursement, and commercial milestones; direct compliant localization and support European/Japanese congresses.

Key Requirements

  • •12+ years of communications experience in biopharmaceuticals or biotech, in fast-paced in-house and/or agency environments.
  • •Proven ownership of communications across multiple ex-US markets with a track record of market impact.
  • •Rare disease and launch experience preferred, including experience in partner or alliance-commercialized markets.
  • •Deep fluency in regulatory frameworks for prescription medicine communications outside the US (e.g., EU Directive 2001/83/EC, ABPI Code/MHRA guidance, Japan PMD Act) with sound standards-based judgment.
  • •Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; additional European or Japanese language capability is valued.
