Job Summary

Lead and deliver the design of airport pavements for major aviation infrastructure, focusing on runways, taxiways, aprons/aircraft stands, shoulders and blast pads, and airside paved areas. Provide runway pavement rehabilitation designs, including condition evaluation, structural assessment, strengthening/overlay and reconstruction options, and staged implementation planning. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, apply international aviation standards and local Saudi/Middle East requirements, and act as a senior technical point of contact while mentoring engineers.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and undertake the design of airport pavements for aviation infrastructure, including runways, taxiways, aprons/aircraft stands, shoulders and blast pads, and airside service roads.
•Deliver runway pavement rehabilitation designs, including evaluation, structural assessment, rehabilitation strategies, strengthening/overlay design, reconstruction solutions, and staged implementation planning.
•Perform pavement engineering tasks such as pavement thickness design, flexible/rigid pavement design, overlay/rehabilitation schemes, pavement condition evaluations, and materials specification.
•Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (airfield civil, geotechnical, drainage/utilities, structural, aviation planning/operations, construction/phasing) and integrate designs with safety, operations, and construction staging.
•Apply international/project standards and provide technical review and governance over pavement design outputs; act as a senior technical point of contact and mentor junior engineers.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
•Master’s degree in Pavement Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or Geotechnical Engineering (advantage).
•Proven experience designing airport pavements for major aviation/airfield infrastructure projects.
•Experience delivering airport/aviation pavement work in the Middle East (preferably Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, or wider GCC).
•Strong runway pavement rehabilitation experience, including inspection, structural assessment, rehabilitation planning, and design of strengthening or reconstruction works.
