Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and check hydraulic models to assist the design of Flood Alleviation Schemes, deliver Flood Risk Assessments and conduct reservoir flood studies
  • •Develop water quality models using industry standard software (MIKE, Delft3D, SIMCAT and/or ICM)
  • •Conceptualise and scope modelling approaches with consideration of risks and opportunities
  • •Undertake and check hydrological assessments (FEH, ReFH2 and WINFAP) and lead tenders ranging from one-off projects to multimillion-pound frameworks
  • •Mentor staff, build client relationships, stay up-to-date with legislation and use project management systems to deliver outputs on time and within budget

Key Requirements

  • •Significant experience with hydraulic and water quality modelling software (Mike, ICM, SIMCAT, Flood Modeller and/or TUFLOW)
  • •Knowledge of Environment Agency requirements for flood models used in flood risk assessments
  • •Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or related discipline; near to or obtained CIWEM or similar professional qualification
  • •Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • •Proficiency in scripting (Python, Anaconda, Ruby) would be advantageous
